LocateMyMechanic helps you compare local garages and send a booking request. It's free for drivers — you pay the garage directly.

    Enter your postcode and what you need — MOT, service or repair.

    See local garages by distance, price, opening hours and reviews from real customers.

    Send a request

    Choose a garage and a preferred day. It's free: no card details, no booking fee.

    The garage contacts you

    The garage aims to call or message you within 2 working hours to agree the date, time and price. If they don't, we'll suggest other garages.

    Get the work done

    Take your car in and pay the garage directly, the way you normally would.

  6. 6

    Leave a review

    After your visit we'll ask how it went. Only customers who actually visited can review.

Find a garage

For garages

  • • Your garage gets a profile with your services, prices, hours and reviews.
  • • Drivers send booking requests; you get them in your dashboard, by email and by text.
  • • You contact the driver to agree the details — you stay in charge of your diary and prices.
  • • After the appointment you mark the booking attended or no-show (within 7 days).
  • • You pay £29.00 a month plus £10.00 only when a new customer turns up. Repeat visits are free. Prices exclude VAT.

Common questions

Why is it free for drivers?
Garages pay a membership to be listed and a small fee when a new customer visits. Drivers never pay LocateMyMechanic and never pay through the website.
Is a booking request a confirmed appointment?
Not yet. It's a request: the garage contacts you to confirm the date, time and price. Nothing is booked until you've both agreed.
Can I trust the reviews?
Only drivers whose booking the garage marked as attended can leave a review, and we never pay or reward anyone for reviews. Garages can reply, but they can't delete reviews.
What are the “Demo” garages?
While we're launching, some example garages are shown so you can see how the site works. They're clearly labelled and can't be booked.
